WatchQueue ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website at watchqueue.app and related services.
1. Information We Collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive:
- Your name and email address — from your Google account profile
- YouTube playlist and video data — titles, channel names, and thumbnail URLs from your YouTube playlists (read-only access)
We do not collect passwords, payment information, or YouTube watch history. We only access playlists and saved videos that you explicitly sync.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your WatchQueue account
- Read your YouTube playlists and saved videos to organize them by topic
- Generate AI-powered learning paths from your saved videos
- Send optional reminder emails about videos in your queue
- Improve our service based on aggregate usage patterns
3. Google User Data
WatchQueue's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically:
- We only request the minimum scopes necessary (YouTube read-only access)
- We do not sell, rent, or share your Google user data with third parties
- We do not use your Google user data for advertising purposes
- We do not modify, delete, or add content to your YouTube account — access is strictly read-only
- Your YouTube data is used solely to provide you with the WatchQueue service
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on encrypted servers hosted by Railway (backend) and Vercel (frontend). We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, JWT authentication tokens, and secure OAuth 2.0 flows.
Your YouTube OAuth refresh token is stored securely and is only used to sync your playlists when you explicitly request it.
5. AI Processing
We use Anthropic's Claude AI to categorize your video titles and generate learning paths. Only video titles and channel names are sent to the AI — no personal information, email addresses, or viewing history is shared with the AI service.
6. Email Communications
If you opt in to reminder emails, we use SendGrid to deliver personalized video recommendations to your email. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.
7. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google OAuth & YouTube Data API — for authentication and reading your playlists
- Anthropic Claude API — for AI video categorization and learning paths
- SendGrid — for sending reminder emails
- Beehiiv — for managing our waitlist/newsletter
- Railway — for hosting our backend server and database
- Vercel — for hosting our frontend website
Each of these services has their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing harinigpc@gmail.com.
Upon receiving a deletion request, we will:
- Delete your user account and profile information
- Delete all stored video and playlist data
- Revoke your YouTube OAuth token
- Complete deletion within 30 days
9. Children's Privacy
WatchQueue is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data stored by WatchQueue
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Revoke Google access at any time via your Google Account permissions
- Unsubscribe from reminder emails at any time
- Export your data upon request
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically for any changes.
